A law firm in Norfolk are looking for a family law locum to help out starting from January 2027 for a period of 3-4 months. You will be covering a privately funded caseload of approximately 20 clients and the work will include divorce, finances, child arrangements, injunctions/non-molestation orders, cohabitation, and pre/post-nuptial work.

You will be providing cover for one of the firm's Directors, who will be absent on sabbatical for this period so you will need to be able to take on their caseload and confidently progress client matters pending their return, potentially including attendance at hearings and undertaking initial consultations with new clients. The majority of cases are matrimonial financial or child arrangements cases.

This is a part-time role of 3-4 days per week with at least 1-2 days at the firm's offices each week.

Emma Ireland LLB AIRP is a failed novelist and accidental poet who writes mostly about politics and social issues. She's either a bloody commie or a bourgeois sell-out depending on whether you listen to her Dad or those who strongly disapprove of Waitrose trifles. After studying law at university she chucked it all in to move to Italy and teach Italian business people how to do their jobs in English. After ten years of wine and sunshine, she returned to the UK and is now a recruitment consultant and freelance writer. At least until that unfinished novel makes her a millionaire.
